About the role#
GBA is hiring a Bridge Inspection Intern for Summer 2027 in Round Rock, Texas. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work alongside experts to gain hands-on experience in the transportation sector. While the role focuses on bridge inspection, you will also gain exposure to broader bridge, road, and traffic projects. Some travel is required for this position.
What you'll do#
- Participate in bridge inspections at project sites.
- Assist with report preparation and load rating tasks.
- Learn about various transportation projects currently in progress.
- Utilize software including AssetWise, Bluebeam, MicroStation, and Excel-based load rating programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Civil Engineering or a related field at an accredited school.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Excel is preferred.
- Prior internship or related experience is a plus.
- Active involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk in an office or on project sites for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
