About the role#
Garda Capital Partners is seeking an intern for the Mortgage Trading Desk in New York for Summer 2027. You will join the trading team to research, analyze, and implement trading solutions. Throughout the internship, you will learn the fundamentals and analytics of trading while working with a mentor. You will also have the chance to shadow other desks to gain a broader view of the firm and the markets.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing data driven strategies to support investment decisions.
- Support the research process through data collection and analysis.
- Perform prototyping, back testing, and performance monitoring.
- Complete desk projects, including developing trade ideas and presenting them to the investment team.
What you'll need#
- Exceptional quantitative and programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Knowledge of and interest in financial markets.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Intellectual curiosity and a motivation to innovate.
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
