About the role#
Garda Capital Partners is hiring a Trading Analyst Intern for the Credit Trading Desk in New York for Summer 2027. You will work directly with the investment team to support trading and risk systems. During this internship, you will receive guidance from a mentor and gain exposure to various desks across the trading floor to better understand the firm and the broader markets.
What you'll do#
- Shadow the credit trading desk to learn the daily responsibilities of analysts and portfolio managers.
- Build a fundamental understanding of the credit market, including global macro credit, emerging market credit, and related areas like global equities and EM local rates or FX.
- Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify trading opportunities and assess risks for new and existing strategies.
- Complete projects for the desk, including developing trade ideas and presenting them to the investment team.
- Support the research process through data collection, analysis, prototyping, back testing, and performance monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- A strong interest in financial markets.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Intellectual curiosity and a drive to improve processes.
