About the role#
Victory Income Investors is seeking a Fixed Income Trading Intern for the summer of 2027. This position offers an opportunity to learn how an institutional trading desk operates. You will work with traders, portfolio managers, and research analysts to understand how investment decisions are executed in the market. The program lasts eight weeks and focuses on market structure, liquidity, and pricing.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to investment grade corporate, high yield, structured product, and municipal trading desks.
- Learn how institutional trades are sourced, evaluated, and executed.
- Work with traders to understand market structure, pricing, and liquidity.
- Interact with portfolio managers and research analysts to see how investment decisions translate into trading activity.
- Develop relationships with the broker-dealer community.
- Use platforms such as Bloomberg, MarketAxess, Tradeweb, and Trumid.
- Monitor new issue and secondary markets to understand pricing drivers.
- Participate in discussions regarding market conditions and relative value.
- Complete a final project or presentation to demonstrate your knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree with an anticipated graduation date of 2027 or 2028.
- Interest in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Genuine passion for financial markets and a desire to learn about fixed income.
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to ask questions.
- Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
- Critical thinking abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
