About the role#
Gelber Group offers a 10-week summer internship for students and recent graduates interested in discretionary trading. This program focuses on the development and execution of a rates-first macro trading process. We aim to evaluate interns for potential full-time employment by teaching the skills necessary to succeed on a trading desk.
What you'll do#
- Sit on a trading desk with full-time traders for hands-on learning.
- Complete a classroom program covering liquid capital markets, macroeconomic fundamentals, technical analysis, and risk management.
- Develop an understanding of how macro traders engage with the market.
- Pitch trade ideas weekly and receive feedback on your quality and execution.
- Participate in a multi-week simulated trading experience.
- Write daily and weekly reflections to build your own trading process.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising junior or senior in an undergraduate program, or recent graduate.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and superior analytical skills.
- Curiosity, self-motivation, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a competitive environment.
- Demonstrated interest in economics, finance, mathematics, or related fields.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June through early August).
- Status: Full-time, paid position.
