About the role#
Gelber Group is offering a 10-week summer internship for students and recent graduates interested in discretionary trading. You will start with an educational program covering liquid capital markets and the tools used to engage them. Following this, you will sit on a trading desk with full-time traders to gain hands-on experience. This program focuses on evaluating candidates for potential full-time employment by teaching the skills necessary to succeed in a macro trading environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in education covering the basics of liquid capital markets.
- Develop and execute a rates-first macro trading process.
- Build a foundational understanding of asset classes, macroeconomic fundamentals, technical analysis, and risk management.
- Pitch trade ideas on a weekly basis and receive feedback on your execution and quality.
- Participate in a multi-week simulated trading experience.
- Submit daily and weekly reflections to track your progress.
- Work directly with full-time traders on a desk.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status as a rising junior or senior, or recent graduation.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and superior analytical skills.
- Curiosity, self-motivation, and an interest in financial markets.
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new concepts quickly.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Demonstrated interest in economics or a related field through coursework or extracurriculars.

- Compensation: $35 per hour.
