About the role#
The Fried Frank Civil Rights Fellowship is a four-year program starting in the fall of 2027. This fellowship combines two years of experience as a litigation associate at Fried Frank with two years working on-site at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF).
What you'll do#
- Spend your first two years as a litigation associate based in the New York office.
- Spend your third and fourth years working on-site at a MALDEF office.
- Work in either the Los Angeles headquarters, or a regional office in San Antonio or Washington, DC, depending on your preferences and MALDEF staffing needs.
What you'll need#
- You are a third-year law student graduating in 2027 or an outgoing judicial law clerk.
- You have a strong commitment to civil rights.
- You are dedicated to becoming an exceptional litigator.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
- The starting salary is $225,000 for first-year associates. Judicial clerks enter at a second-year associate salary. Compensation for years three and four matches staff attorney pay at MALDEF.
- Work locations include New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; San Antonio, TX; and Washington, DC.
