About the role#
Fried Frank is hiring a Legislative and Regulatory Research Intern to support our Legislative Research Attorney. This role provides hands-on experience with how legal professionals track, analyze, and organize regulatory developments. It is well-suited for students interested in law school, law librarianship, or a career as a paralegal.
What you'll do#
- Monitor the Federal Register and Congressional Record daily to flag items relevant to firm clients.
- Use AI tools to prepare and validate summaries of bills, agency rules, and hearing transcripts.
- Tag and categorize federal and state legislation within BGOV and StateNet tracking platforms.
- Build and organize legislative history folders in iManage.
- Maintain and update intranet pages that host legislative histories for significant bills.
- Monitor business and legal news publications to support team updates.
- Conduct research using various legal and legislative databases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Strong reading comprehension and written communication skills.
- High level of organization and reliability.
- Ability to handle repetitive, detail-oriented tasks with sustained accuracy.
- Interest in government, public policy, or law.
- Prior exposure to complex legislative and regulatory texts is preferred.

- The role is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship with a rolling term.
