About the role#
Fresh Mark Inc. is hiring a Food Safety Quality Assurance Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship based in Massillon, Ohio. You will work within the Quality Assurance department to gain hands-on experience in food safety and manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Approve final products and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Assess daily process quality parameters and quality assurance systems, including raw materials, calibration, maintenance, procedures, and auditing.
- Analyze processing data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and update supplier and food safety documentation within TraceGains.
- Maintain and organize LIMS records and data.
- Develop and update food safety training materials and videos for facility displays.
- Assist with planning Food Safety Month activities and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support the implementation of nonconformances within the tracking system.
- Complete miscellaneous tasks such as process improvement projects and assisting with process start-ups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Animal Science, Meat Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related technical science.
- Junior status by the start of the internship program.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to safety practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
