About the role#
Franklin University is hiring a part-time student employee for the Learning Commons. You will work up to 19 hours per week, including evenings until 6 p.m. This is an on-site position based in Columbus, Ohio. You must be currently enrolled in Franklin University courses to be eligible.
What you'll do#
- Provide in-person support to students, staff, and faculty.
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures.
- Help customers locate items and process resource requests.
- Collect and report statistics.
- Answer phone inquiries.
- Troubleshoot printer and copier issues.
- Support digitization efforts and assist staff with projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Franklin University courses.
- Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality.
- Strong customer service skills and a customer-centered philosophy.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work well in a team.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Capacity to learn new technologies, including library catalogs and databases.
- Understanding of Franklin's relationship management principles and University values.
