About the role#
Flowserve is hiring an Engineering Co-op or Operations Intern for the West Chicago, Illinois facility. This role provides an introduction to the rotating equipment repair industry by supporting the operations team with order fulfillment, technical documentation, and process improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with order acquisition and fulfillment to maintain a positive customer experience.
- Support the manufacturing team on projects focused on cost reduction and process improvement.
- Collaborate with regional operations leadership to develop standardization initiatives.
- Acquire knowledge of pump and mechanical seal fundamentals to support site activities.
- Research and collect serial number-specific equipment information based on customer requirements.
- Create technical customer-facing final job reports and as-found condition reports.
- Document and update records and drawings related to equipment upgrades.
What you'll need#
- Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, Environmental, Computer, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology. Candidates must be in good standing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to stay focused on tasks and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Preferred: Experience with SolidWorks and comfort working in a shop environment.

- Term: Winter 2026 (January through August 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time.
