Rotating Equipment Engineer Co-Op / Operations Intern

About the role#

Flowserve is seeking an Engineering Co-op / Operations Intern for our West Chicago, Illinois facility. This role provides an introduction to the rotating equipment repair industry, focusing on operational support, technical documentation, and project-based manufacturing improvements.

What you'll do#

• Assist with order acquisition and fulfillment to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Support the manufacturing team on projects focused on cost reduction and process improvement.
• Collaborate with regional operations leadership to develop standardization initiatives.
• Develop foundational knowledge of pump and mechanical seal systems.
• Research and collect serial number-specific equipment data to meet customer requirements.
• Create technical customer-facing final job reports and as-found condition reports.
• Document and update records and drawings related to equipment upgrades.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, Environmental, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to remain focused on tasks within a team-oriented environment.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Preferred: Experience with SolidWorks and comfort working in a shop environment.

• Location: West Chicago, Illinois.
• Term: Winter 2026 (January to August 2026 preferred).
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday.
• Modality: On-site.
