About the role#
The Service Technician Co-Op program offers hands-on experience for students interested in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, electromechanical technology, or HVAC trades. You will work alongside experienced technicians to learn the fundamentals of compressed air systems, preventive maintenance, and field diagnostics. This program is designed as a pipeline into full-time technician roles.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of rotary screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, and ancillary equipment.
- Support preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and belt inspections.
- Perform basic mechanical checks and system inspections.
- Observe and assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
- Learn to use diagnostic tools and complete service documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out protocols and PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety training and toolbox talks.
- Maintain clean job sites and service vehicles.
- Interact with customers under supervision and assist with warehouse and parts handling when needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or recent acceptance into a technical, vocational, or community college program in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or HVAC/Industrial Systems.
- A strong interest in hands-on mechanical work and a willingness to work in industrial environments.
- A valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one during the program.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied physical conditions.
- Preferred: Basic mechanical or electrical coursework, prior shop or trade experience, and a strong work ethic.
