About the role#
The Accelerated RN Student Nurse Extern Program offers nursing students an opportunity to gain clinical experience before graduation. You will work within the Orlando Health system to build confidence and competence alongside experienced nursing staff. This program is designed to help you transition into your senior year of nursing school while exploring potential graduate nurse positions.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with a RN trained preceptor in a 1-on-1 environment.
- Engage with patients in specialty, medical surgical, or progressive care units.
- Complete one 12-hour shift per week, following your preceptor's schedule.
- Participate in supplementary educational sessions to support your professional development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
- An expected graduation date no later than August 2027.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- An active BLS certification that remains valid through the end of the program.
- Availability to participate from February 8th, 2027, until your graduation date.

- This position is located in Orlando, Florida.
- This is an on-site, paid externship.
- The program terms include Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027.
