About the role#
Fireclay Partners offers a remote investment banking experience for current MBA students interested in M&A and private markets advisory. You will contribute to research, financial analysis, and transaction support while balancing your academic schedule. This role is part-time, requiring 10 to 15 hours per week, and allows you to work from anywhere in the United States. You will collaborate with senior team members and analysts on defined projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and review company, industry, and competitive research.
- Build financial analyses and valuations using public comparables, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow methods.
- Create pitch materials, information memoranda, buyer and acquisition-target lists, and data room content.
- Synthesize research into concise recommendations and assess strategic fit.
- Support outreach preparation, coverage tracking, and internal reporting.
- Coordinate analyst research and review work for accuracy.
- Use approved AI tools to organize information and refine written materials while maintaining accountability for all deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MBA program with strong academic performance.
- Prior professional experience in finance, consulting, accounting, corporate development, or operations.
- A clear interest in investment banking, M&A, private equity, or corporate finance.
- A working foundation in accounting and valuation.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Professional writing and clear communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute consistently.
- Practical proficiency with AI tools and the ability to apply them responsibly to analytical work.

- This is a remote role based in the United States.
- The position is part-time, with a commitment of 10 to 15 hours per week during the academic year.
