About the role#
Fireclay Partners is hiring an Investment Banking Analyst to join our team in Kansas City for the summer of 2027. You will work on M&A and capital advisory projects across sectors like industrials, energy, and technology. This role offers direct exposure to live deals and senior leadership within an entrepreneurial team environment.
What you'll do#
- Build financial models and valuation work, including DCF, comps, and accretion/dilution analysis.
- Create client materials such as teasers, CIMs, pitches, and management presentations.
- Support buy-side and sell-side execution by managing diligence, data rooms, and process tracking.
- Conduct industry and company research, specifically within transportation, logistics, and energy.
- Assist with business development and coverage through market maps, pipeline maintenance, and buyer screens.
- Synthesize research findings into insights for senior bankers and client executives.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Up to 3 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, corporate development, or relevant internships.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, along with clear writing and presentation skills.
- A high level of organization and attention to detail while managing multiple workstreams.
- Experience with CapIQ, PitchBook, or Apollo is a plus, as is an interest in industrials, energy, or transportation.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position based on-site at our headquarters in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
- The role may require occasional client travel.
