About the role#
Finning is looking for a Communications Intern for an 8-month placement. You will join the Communications Team to support corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, and content planning. This role also provides opportunities to assist the Global Sustainability team. You will work in a hybrid format, with three days in the office and two days at home.
What you'll do#
- Write and edit content for internal and external stories.
- Interview Finning leaders and individual contributors to gather information.
- Manage the weekly Traction Roundup newsletter, including editing copy and sourcing media.
- Maintain the Traction intranet by updating pages and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure content accuracy.
- Organize meetings, events, and learning sessions.
- Create presentation materials for various communications projects.
- Track the outcomes of initiatives and prepare reports for leadership on program impact.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and represent the company professionally.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a communications, journalism, or broadcast program at a post-secondary institution.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Ability to manage deadlines, organize tasks, and prioritize work effectively.
- Skill in building relationships and collaborating across diverse teams.
- Experience creating engaging presentations.
- Ability to work independently.
- A portfolio is preferred.

- Locations: Surrey, BC; Calgary, AB; or Edmonton, AB.
- Term: January 2027 to August 2027.
- Compensation: $21.99 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience and year of study.
