About the role#
Figure is seeking a Firmware Intern for the Fall 2026 term to support the development of autonomous humanoid robots. You will work on-site in San Jose to assist with board bring-up, feature validation, and hardware integration.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and test firmware in C or C++ for critical components including motor controllers, battery management systems, and sensing hardware.
- Develop Python tools to support hardware calibration and test automation.
- Contribute to the development of CI/CD infrastructure.
- Support hardware and software integration tasks within the lab environment.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student (Senior) or recent graduate in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Fluency in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience implementing low-level software on bare-metal systems and RTOS.
- Knowledge of computer architecture.
- Understanding of communication buses and protocols such as Ethernet, Ethercat, Serial, CAN, or USB.
- Proficiency with lab instruments like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debugging tools.
- Familiarity with motor controllers, battery management systems, CI/CD infrastructures, Agile, and test-driven development is a plus.

- Commitment: Minimum 10 weeks, with 1 to 2 terms preferred.

- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $40 to $45 per hour.
