About the role#
Figure is seeking a Power Systems Integration Intern for the Fall 2026 term. In this role, you will own the end-to-end integration of power systems for autonomous humanoid robots. You will bridge the gap between physical hardware, firmware development, thermals, and controls to ensure the robot operates safely and reliably.
What you'll do#
- Design and conduct measurements to characterize power bus performance.
- Develop methods to expand the robot's performance envelope.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and validate software on robotic hardware.
- Perform hands-on debugging of embedded systems using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Troubleshoot system-level integration issues, analyze performance logs, and document root causes.
- Assist in maintaining development environments and version control workflows for embedded software releases.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Senior) or recent graduate in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Minimum 10-week internship availability, with 1 to 2 terms preferred.
- Strong understanding of battery design and operation.
- Proficiency with the Linux operating system.
- Strong electrical understanding of systems and components.
- Bonus qualifications include an understanding of motor control theory, experience with power system simulation, and proficiency in Python.
