About the role#
As a Power Systems Integration Intern, you will own the end-to-end integration of power systems to push the boundaries of humanoid robot capabilities. You will bridge the gap between physical hardware, firmware development, thermals, and controls to ensure the robots operate safely and performantly. This is a paid, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Design and conduct measurements to characterize power bus performance.
- Develop methods to reliably expand the performance envelope.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate and validate software on robotic hardware.
- Perform hands-on debugging of embedded systems using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Troubleshoot system-level integration issues, analyze performance logs, and document root causes.
- Assist in maintaining development environments and version control workflows for embedded software releases.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Senior) or recent graduate in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of battery design and operation considerations.
- Strong proficiency with the Linux operating system.
- Strong electrical understanding of the system and components.
- Minimum 10-week internship availability (1 to 2 terms preferred).
- Bonus qualifications include an understanding of motor control theory, experience with power system simulation and architecture optimization, and proficiency with Python.
