About the role#
As a Data Science & AI Engineering intern, you will join the team building the data infrastructure that supports geothermal energy production. You will work on a specific project scoped with your manager, which you will drive over the course of the 12-week program. At the end of the summer, you will present your findings and results to the executive leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Design and maintain data infrastructure and architecture.
- Support the deployment and monitoring of machine learning models in production.
- Work with data scientists to productionize models and analyses.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising Junior, Senior, Master's, MBA candidate graduating within the next year, or PhD candidate.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to leadership.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative on new challenges.
- Experience with cloud data platforms like AWS, Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks is preferred.
- Familiarity with MLOps tools and big data tools such as Spark or Airflow is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Houston, Texas.
- The term for this role is Summer 2027.
