About the role#
As an intern in Expense Reporting and Analysis, you will join the Financial Planning and Analysis Department for the Summer 2027 term. You will support the team with expense management functions, including the preparation of the expense close, financial analysis, and reporting. You will report to the Lead Financial Analyst and collaborate with various functional areas across the company.
What you'll do#
- Assist with operating expense reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare reconciliations and analysis for general ledger accounts and other financial data.
- Handle journal entries and supporting analysis.
- Prepare fixed assets and accrual entries.
- Assist with monthly headcount reconciliations and reporting.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets.
- Complete ad hoc requests and special projects related to financial reporting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting or Finance degree program, having completed your sophomore year.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale within your major.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate or advanced level.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and create accurate documentation.
- A high level of motivation, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- An interest in a career within the financial services industry is preferred.

- This internship is based in Des Moines, Iowa.
- F&G offers remote, hybrid, and on-site work arrangements. You will determine the specific work modality with your manager during the hiring process.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
