About the role#
As a Physical Design intern, you will realize front-end designs in silicon. You will help improve iteration speed to final signoff by developing and running Physical Design flows to synthesize blocks. You will also automate final design checks and advise on RTL design decisions.
What you'll do#
- Develop and run Physical Design flows for block synthesis.
- Automate final design checks.
- Advise on RTL design decisions to support silicon realization.
- Learn about transformers and modern artificial intelligence architectures.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor, Master, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with high-speed digital logic and ASIC or SoC design concepts.
- Experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, or Python.
- Knowledge of verification work, writing test benches, and physical design tools.
- Ability to program with Python or other scripting languages.
- Familiarity with modern ML and LLM model architectures, numerical representations, and clocking or reset schemes is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is a 12-week paid internship based on-site in San Jose, California.
- Available terms include Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Summer 2027.
- The role is full-time.
- We provide housing support for those relocating and daily lunch and dinner in the office.
