About the role#
As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will support the accounting processes for PC Bank and PC Insurance. This role involves managing payroll, expense reports, intercompany transactions, and month-end procedures. You will work closely with the payroll, treasury, and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
What you'll do#
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll and expense reporting journal entries for PC Insurance and PC Bank.
- Review the mapping of payroll registers to the correct General Ledger accounts.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and analyze monthly payroll costs.
- Coordinate with payroll, finance, and treasury teams to process vendor payments.
- Support the PC Insurance month-end process by booking journal entries and analyzing actuals to budget variances.
- Book and reconcile intercompany entries for PC Bank and PC Insurance.
- Assist with accounting automation initiatives to improve process efficiency.
- Handle ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
What you'll need#
- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- CPA designation or currently in the process of obtaining one.
- 1-2 years of related accounting and finance experience.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel.
- Experience with SAP is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for figures.
- Excellent time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate in a straightforward manner.
