About the role#
We are looking for an Engineering and Operations Intern to join our team in Faison, North Carolina. You will work directly at our manufacturing facility to support process improvement and equipment reliability efforts. This role offers hands-on experience in an industrial setting while you learn from professionals in operations, maintenance, and process engineering.
What you'll do#
- Assist with process improvement projects to increase efficiency and product quality.
- Collect and analyze technical data to support plant operations.
- Document progress using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and project tracking systems.
- Shadow team members during capital project planning and equipment reliability strategy sessions.
- Create and update standard operating procedures.
- Participate in plant meetings, improvement discussions, and root cause analysis.
- Support data collection during process trials and maintenance events.
- Help organize spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor equipment reliability and document maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with safety and operations staff to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
- A GPA of 2.7 or greater.
- Interest in manufacturing and industrial systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a plant environment that may include hot, cold, or noisy conditions.
- Ability to walk, stand, or climb during plant tours and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
