The Impact Fellowship is a one-year, full-time, embedded role designed to provide early-career professionals with a crash course in mission-driven sustainability work. Fellows will be based at origin, rotating between projects and countries in cycles across Africa, Latin America, and South East Asia. This role offers on-the-job training, close mentorship, and exposure to the full arc of impact work, from research and design through to implementation and evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Support the identification, design, and delivery of interventions that improve outcomes for smallholder farmers and their communities.
- Research and analyze sustainability challenges, assess evidence, quantify potential impact, and support decision-making.
- Contribute to the planning and pilot design of initiatives and assist with partner engagement.
- Work in the field alongside farming communities, partners, and local teams to support program delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate results, track progress against objectives, and surface insights to inform future work.
- Collaborate across a multidisciplinary team including data, technology, operations, and field personnel.
What you'll need#
- An exceptional academic record and a degree in science, engineering, or a related quantitative field (e.g., Agriculture, Environmental Engineering, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, or Public Health).
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, including familiarity with basic statistics and the scientific method.
- Experience in fast-paced, multicultural, or independent settings.
- The ability to structure complex problems and communicate clearly in writing and conversation.
- A genuine motivation to alleviate poverty and a strong appetite for fieldwork.
- Language skills in areas of operation are considered an asset.
- Proficiency in R, Python, or similar tools is an advantage.
Location & details#
- This is a remote-first, full-time position.
- The fellowship involves significant fieldwork at project sites in Africa, Latin America, or South East Asia.
- Housing and travel to country team locations are provided.
- The position is paid.
