About the role#
The Fellowship is a one-year, full-time, embedded role designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to mission-driven work in the international trade and development sector. Fellows work on the ground, rotating between projects and countries in regions including Africa, Latin America, and South East Asia. The position offers on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to the full lifecycle of impact work, from initial research and design to implementation and evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Support the identification, design, and delivery of interventions aimed at improving outcomes for smallholder farmers and their communities.
- Research and analyze sustainability challenges, assess evidence, and quantify potential impact to support decision-making.
- Contribute to the planning and pilot design of new initiatives and engage with project partners.
- Work directly in the field alongside farming communities, local teams, and partners to support program delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate results, track progress against objectives, and surface insights to inform future project phases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data, technology, operations, and field staff.
What you'll need#
- An exceptional academic record and a degree in science, engineering, or a related quantitative field such as Agriculture, Environmental Engineering, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, or Public Health.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, including familiarity with basic statistics and the scientific method (experience with R or Python is an advantage).
- Proven ability to structure complex problems and communicate clearly in writing and conversation.
- Previous experience in fast-paced, multicultural, or independent settings.
- A genuine motivation to alleviate poverty and an appetite for extensive fieldwork.
- Language skills relevant to areas of operation are considered an asset.
Location & details#
- This is a remote-first, full-time, paid position.
- The role involves significant time based at origin, with rotations between various international project locations.
- Housing and travel to country team locations are provided.
