About the role#
Engineers and Geoscientists BC is hiring an Information Systems Co-op for an 8-month term. This position runs from September 2026 through June 2027. You will contribute to public safety in British Columbia while gaining experience in enterprise software development.
What you'll do#
- Build and integrate enterprise solutions using Microsoft tools like C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, and Entity Framework.
- Apply IT best practices and agile methodologies to define solutions and design data models.
- Test and deploy applications.
- Work within a modern DevOps toolchain including GIT, Azure DevOps, SonarCloud, and Stackify.
- Collaborate with the development team to deliver technical projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 3rd or 4th year undergraduate program for Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on new tasks.
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
- Programming experience with C#, Java, C, or C++.
- Exposure to SQL, relational databases, Microsoft Visual Studio, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with front-end libraries such as React or Angular is helpful.
Location & details#
- Location: Burnaby, British Columbia.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
- Compensation: $23.50 per hour.
- Benefits: Includes 8% pay in lieu of benefits, 10 vacation days per annum (pro-rated), and a flex day program.
