About the role#
The Compliance Student Intern role supports the Ethics and Compliance department in maintaining regulatory and legal obligations. You will work on assigned projects and tasks to assist the team in daily operations. This is a paid, full-time summer internship.
What you'll do#
- Research federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Assist with HIPAA breach risk assessments.
- Track compliance metrics and compile data for investigations and policy development.
- Help develop and share compliance communications.
- Manage various projects as assigned.
- Complete all tasks accurately and on time.
- Participate in intern-specific activities and create a presentation on skills learned.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a college or university.
- Interest in the compliance field, with a preference for students pursuing a law degree.
- Relevant class experience.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive approach to learning about the company and department.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site at the Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama.
- The internship runs from Monday, June 7, 2027, to Friday, July 30, 2027.
