About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Encompass Health, you will support our pharmacy operations in a full-time, on-site capacity. You will work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to ensure accurate medication management and inventory control. This role involves handling pharmaceutical data and supporting the daily needs of our inpatient rehabilitation facility.
What you'll do#
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storage according to the drug formulary.
- Refill medication dispense machines and replace floor stock items, including narcotics, based on facility policy.
- Reconcile narcotics and maintain accurate records in the sign-out files.
- Review pharmacy profiles and collect data on dispensed drugs to support accurate billing.
- Ensure emergency drug boxes are checked and maintained daily.
- Enter and fill orders for pharmacist verification.
- Prioritize and deliver STAT orders promptly based on drug schedules.
- Complete pharmacy inspection manuals and transfer charges to the business office.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling protected health information.
What you'll need#
- Current registration or licensure with the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Enrollment in an approved professional pharmacy degree program with satisfactory progress toward licensure.
- Alternatively, you may be a graduate of an approved pharmacy program or have established educational equivalency via an FPGEC Certificate and hold a current pharmacy license.
- Qualified applicants awaiting examination for licensure or meeting re-licensure requirements are also eligible.
