About the role#
The External Financial Reporting Intern works with the SEC reporting group. You will help prepare external financial reports, including Form 10-Q, Form 8-K, and earnings release materials. This role provides insight into how financial and operational data moves from the accounting system into final reports. You will also learn how different teams within the accounting department function.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze data from various sources for external financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of all external financial reports.
- Compile financial data to support reports and filings.
- Execute internal controls related to the financial reporting process.
- Protect sensitive information.
- Assist with special projects and participate in intern activities.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a bachelor’s program for Accounting.
- An interest in the financial reporting department.
- Class experience in the field is preferred.
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Birmingham, Alabama.
- The term runs from June 7, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
