About the role#
This internship provides exposure to a business aviation career path. You will work primarily at the Encompass Health Aviation building at the Birmingham airport, with some time at the corporate office. You will support the Aviation business unit across flight operations, aircraft maintenance, scheduling, and administration. The role involves project work assigned by the Vice President of Aviation. You will also participate in company-wide intern activities and deliver a final presentation on your skills to senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist with flight planning and attend pre and post flight briefings.
- Support pre-departure and arrival activities like ground handling and aircraft servicing.
- Help with sourcing tasks such as work order management, ordering parts, and tracking supplies.
- Support flight scheduling by securing services and maintaining records.
- Handle administrative duties including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Complete assigned projects, such as process improvement or manual development.
- Engage with other interns and participate in scheduled program activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in Aviation Management, Aviation Flight Operations, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Birmingham, Alabama.
- The program runs from Monday, June 7, 2027, through Friday, July 30, 2027.
