About the role#
Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is looking for a Survey Intern to join our GPS team in Columbia, Missouri. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work alongside an experienced Surveying Technician to gain hands-on experience with construction layout and field operations. Many of our interns move into full-time roles as Surveying Technicians, Project Managers, or Estimators.
What you'll do#
- Set up, adjust, and operate surveying instruments.
- Calibrate sites for GPS rovers and GPS Machine Control.
- Provide work control lines and elevations to ensure accurate construction installation.
- Perform topographic and cross-section surveys.
- Prepare documentation of all surveying activities.
- Coordinate tasks with job site and operations personnel.
What you'll need#
- At least two years of construction industry experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program.
- Working knowledge of survey practices and computations.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
