About the role#
Emery Oleochemicals is hiring a Production CO-OP to work within our manufacturing facility. This role supports the engineering and operations teams by assisting with process improvements, equipment evaluations, and daily production needs. You will gain hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment while contributing to safety, efficiency, and quality goals.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate production processes to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Collect and interpret production data to identify trends and process opportunities.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues alongside maintenance technicians and engineering staff.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training documentation, and work instructions.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects such as Lean, 5S, and waste reduction.
- Assist with equipment testing, maintenance coordination, and process trials.
- Support safety programs and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Perform general project tasks including research, data entry, and equipment checks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic engineering tools.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and communicate your findings clearly.
- Interest in hands-on manufacturing and process improvement.
- Willingness to work on-site in a manufacturing setting, which requires wearing personal protective equipment and spending time on the production floor.
