About the role#
Emerson is seeking a Sourcing Co-Op to join our strategic sourcing team in Elyria, Ohio. This role is designed for students to gain hands-on experience in commodity management. You will participate in all facets of the strategic sourcing process, develop a professional work ethic, and improve your technical and interpersonal skills. We do not expect prior experience in commodity management, but you must be open to learning and constructive feedback.
What you'll do#
- Supplier Delivery Get Well Program: Create open order documents for weekly meetings and lead the Get Well meetings with suppliers.
- RFQ Management: Manage the bidding process for current and new parts, including Excel tracking, bid evaluations, follow-up calls, and weekly status updates.
- PPAP Coordination: Receive and log all PPAPs, track approval sign-offs, create warrants, and manage sample storage.
- Documentation: Complete standard documents such as ESAC, NDA, and Supplier Assessments under the guidance of Commodity Managers.
- Negotiations: Assist with indirect payment terms, lead times, and minimum order quantities for smaller suppliers.
- Special Project: Complete a project during the second half of the term under the supervision of a Commodity Manager.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Junior or senior class standing.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Completion of at least one object-oriented course.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
