About the role#
This is a paid summer internship for the 2027 season. You will join a branch underwriting department to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry. The role focuses on learning our business processes, products, and the core mechanics of underwriting.
What you'll do#
- Help underwriters gather the information required to evaluate new business and renewal submissions.
- Handle correspondence with agents and other external sources.
- Develop a working knowledge of our culture and internal operations.
- Build a foundation of understanding regarding the insurance underwriting process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a business major, with a preference for insurance, marketing, or finance.
- Completion of your junior year is preferred.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in property casualty insurance.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
- Good personal computer knowledge.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Pennsylvania.
- The role is available on-site, with remote options for candidates residing in Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Rhode Island.
