About the role#
This is a paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Des Moines, Iowa. You will work within a branch underwriting department to gain hands-on experience with insurance processes and company culture.
What you'll do#
- Support underwriters by gathering information for new business and renewal submissions.
- Communicate with agents and external sources.
- Learn about EMC products and business operations.
- Develop a practical understanding of the underwriting process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a business major, with a preference for insurance, marketing, or finance.
- Completion of your junior year is preferred.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- A clear interest in a career within property casualty insurance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and effective verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency with personal computers.
