About the role#
This summer internship offers a practical look at how we engineer and manufacture electrical and mechanical equipment. You will work from our office in Champlin, Minnesota, supporting our procurement team through the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Help purchase materials from suppliers for our industrial control panel design and manufacturing projects.
- Partner with engineering and project teams to research and select alternative materials or suppliers to keep projects on schedule.
- Manage the return of unused or overstock materials.
- Collaborate with suppliers to refine our quoting and purchasing workflows.
- Assist in rolling out new estimating tools and process improvements.
- Support the production coordinator by tracking material shortages, reprioritizing tasks, and providing supply chain updates to help meet delivery goals.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Accurate, fast, and detail-oriented computer skills.
- The ability to thrive in a busy environment while working with a variety of customers and co-workers.
