About the role#
The Program Operations Intern supports the Online Programs team with student communications, program administration, and faculty support. This role serves as a primary point of contact for students in our continuing education programs. You will work with a global student population, including English language learners and young adult students, primarily through email and chat. This position is ideal for someone interested in higher education, student services, or program coordination.
What you'll do#
- Support daily program operations and administrative tasks.
- Assist with student orientations, program updates, and general communications.
- Respond to routine student inquiries and direct complex questions to the appropriate staff.
- Help students navigate online learning platforms and academic systems.
- Provide support for webinars, virtual events, and guest speaker sessions.
- Assist with student registration, record maintenance, and reporting.
- Administer surveys and compile the results.
- Provide general faculty and program support as needed.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort learning new technologies and online platforms.
- Interest in higher education, student services, or online learning.
- Preferred: Experience in student support, customer service, administration, or campus involvement.
- Preferred: Experience with online learning platforms or virtual collaboration tools.
- Preferred: International or cross-cultural experience.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- The role requires a consistent 20-hour-per-week schedule, typically Monday through Friday, from 8am to 12pm.
- This is a paid internship.
