About the role#
The Student Data Applications Support Specialist provides software support and services for ASCENDER student applications. You will serve as a primary resource for local education agencies, helping them navigate student accounting procedures, attendance, and special education requirements. This role involves balancing technical troubleshooting with user training to ensure our clients use the software effectively.
What you'll do#
- Provide software support and onboarding services for new local education agencies.
- Conduct workshops and user training sessions at the service center, online, or on-site at client locations.
- Record and update the ticketing system with support details and time spent.
- Test software prior to release to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Gather user requirements for system enhancements and communicate these to the Texas Computer Cooperative.
- Monitor client progress and identify solutions for data or file problems.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma is required. A Bachelor degree is preferred.
- Two to three years of experience in a school or service center setting related to student data support.
- Understanding of school student accounting procedures, specifically attendance, special education, scheduling, discipline, and grade reporting.
- Familiarity with PEIMS submissions and TSDS collections.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email.
- Ability to interpret technical material and state laws related to student applications.
