About the role#
Eaton is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern or Co-op for the Energy Transition Team. This role focuses on the design and development of home energy management systems and power management products. You will work through the full product lifecycle, from initial concepts and prototype testing to manufacturing launch. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including electrical and firmware engineers to develop new solutions.
What you'll do#
- Perform mechanical design and analysis using CAD solid modeling, FEA, and kinematic simulations.
- Create designs for parts, mechanisms, and assemblies using injection molded plastic, machined metal, and formed metal.
- Integrate electronic circuit boards and electrical components into final product housings.
- Participate in the entire product development process, including prototype assembly and testing.
- Support improvements to existing products by evaluating new technologies.
- Contribute to international project teams focused on new innovations.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
- Graduation date no later than August 2029.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to commute to Moon Township, PA, as you must live within 50 miles of the site.
