About the role#
Easterseals PORT Health is seeking an intern for our Facility Based Detox Center. This position supports adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in a professional clinical environment. The internship is designed to coincide with your academic curriculum and provide practical experience in a facility-based crisis service setting.
What you'll do#
- Complete clinical rotations, practicum, or internship requirements as part of the treatment team.
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling for clients.
- Maintain clinical documentation according to program and Medicaid standards, including assessments and progress reports.
- Support patient healing and professional service provision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Health Administration, Psychology, or Public Health degree program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage assigned projects through to completion.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
