About the role#
This is a hands-on internship supporting the Materials Characterization Lab. You will work alongside engineers and staff on projects focused on advanced manufacturing and aerospace systems. The role provides exposure to various materials characterization and testing techniques.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the measurement and analysis of electro-optical and semiconductor components.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including test plans and work instructions.
- Execute functional and performance tests while collecting and analyzing data.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and innovation within the lab environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Strong hands-on skills and comfort working in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to produce clear technical reports and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
- Exposure to programming platforms such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB is preferred.
