About the role#
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work within the Materials Characterization Lab. You will support engineers and staff on projects focused on advanced manufacturing and aerospace systems, gaining exposure to various characterization and testing techniques.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the measurement and analysis of electro-optical and semiconductor components.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including test plans and work instructions.
- Execute functional and performance tests while collecting and analyzing data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.
- Contribute to a lab environment focused on safety, quality, and innovation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Chemistry, Physics, or a related STEM field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in a hands-on lab environment.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation, such as reports and test instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and an enthusiasm for learning.
- Exposure to programming platforms like Python, C/C++, or MATLAB is preferred.
