About the role#
The Associate Director for Student Leadership leads the vision and evolution of Duke True North Leadership. This role shapes university-wide initiatives to help students develop their leadership identity and purpose. You will work with a team to create opportunities that empower students to grow as ethical decision-makers and community builders.
What you'll do#
- Champion the strategic vision, implementation, assessment, and enhancement of Duke True North Leadership.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive leadership curriculum focused on authentic leadership, ethical decision-making, and self-reflection.
- Mentor and advise student leadership fellows, program leaders, and peer educators.
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships with faculty, academic departments, Athletics, and other campus stakeholders.
- Manage program budgets and resources that support leadership initiatives and student success.
- Utilize assessment data and student learning outcomes to strengthen program effectiveness.
What you'll need#
- Generally a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years of experience in personnel, university administration, or a related field.
- Experience supporting student organizations and engagement initiatives.
- Experience designing, implementing, and assessing leadership development programs.
- A strong understanding of student engagement and co-curricular learning.
- Ability to navigate complex partnerships and organizational priorities.
