About the role#
As a Platform Engineer Intern, you will join the technology team to maintain and improve the reliability and efficiency of DRW systems. You will work under the guidance of senior technologists on complex projects designed to drive progress while gaining insight into the trading industry. This is a ten-week, full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Engage in and improve the lifecycle of services from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Design, write, and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of services.
- Manage service capacity, performance, and disaster recovery.
- Identify innovative solutions to complex problems and advocate for their implementation.
- Collaborate with systems and infrastructure engineers, software developers, quantitative traders, and researchers.
- Build automation to prevent the recurrence of issues related to mission-critical services.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related science discipline.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Exposure to networking, Linux/Unix administration, systems performance, capacity planning, Kubernetes, Docker, or CI/CD tools.
- Understanding of large-scale distributed systems.
- Excellent scripting skills in Python and Bash.
