About the role#
The Right of Way Intern supports the Land Services team by helping secure property rights for the construction, operation, and maintenance of company facilities. You will work alongside Land Agents and Senior Land Agents to gain experience in real estate, land rights, property research, and stakeholder engagement.
What you'll do#
- Partner with Land Agents to learn about right-of-way acquisition, land management, and real estate processes.
- Assist in the review and administration of agreements, including leases, easements, grants, and fee-simple purchases.
- Conduct title research and property investigations to identify ownership interests.
- Communicate with landowners to help ensure professional interactions.
- Participate in property inspections and gather data for valuation assessments.
- Prepare and submit permits and licenses, including those for road and railroad crossings.
- Document property damage claims and gather information for settlement discussions.
- Interpret land rights and real estate agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel on land activities.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Business Management, Geography, Real Estate, Public Relations, Construction Management, Legal, Project Management, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- An expected graduation date in 2028 or 2029.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to research, analyze information, and maintain attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple assignments.

- This position is based in Cayce, South Carolina.
- This is an on-site, full-time role.
- The internship follows a rolling term.
