About the role#
Dominion Energy is seeking a student for a Mechanical Engineering internship during the summer of 2027. This position is based in the Site Engineering Department at the Millstone Power Station in Waterford, Connecticut. You will work on fire protection and electrical environmental qualification tasks.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate regulatory documentation, fire protection systems, and equipment.
- Conduct fire protection related walkdowns.
- Interpret and implement code and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate program and system dependencies.
- Assist the fire protection program owner with developing and implementing program improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical or Materials Engineering program at an ABET accredited 4-year college or university.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2028 or later.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid engineering skills appropriate for your grade level.
- Good technical writing and computer skills.
- An inquisitive nature and the ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Strong professional ethics and the ability to work well in a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is desired, with a preference for proficiency in MS Excel with Macros.
- Knowledge of programming and analysis is preferred.
