About the role#
Dixon Valve is looking for an AI Solutions and Automations Intern to help develop and test AI tools that improve business performance. You will work alongside technology teams and business leaders to identify operational needs and build practical solutions. This is a hands-on role for students interested in applying AI to real business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate business processes to find opportunities for AI improvement.
- Design and test AI agents, automation workflows, and productivity tools.
- Meet with business stakeholders to understand their operational needs.
- Research emerging AI technologies and industry best practices.
- Assist with prompt engineering, workflow design, and solution testing.
- Document AI projects, business requirements, and implementation plans.
- Support user training and help teams adopt new AI tools.
- Maintain documentation for AI governance and security.
- Monitor the performance and reliability of deployed AI tools.
- Create reports that summarize project outcomes and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Availability to work at least 10 hours per week in blocks of at least 2 hours.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Genuine interest in AI, automation, and emerging technology.
- Experience with platforms like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
- Familiarity with tools such as Python, Power Automate, Power Platform, or SQL.
- Previous project experience involving AI, machine learning, or automation.
- Interest in cybersecurity, data privacy, and responsible AI practices.
Location & details#
- Location: Chestertown, Maryland.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Rolling opportunities available for fall and spring semesters, with flexible scheduling around class commitments.
