About the role#
This apprenticeship provides current Denver Public Schools students the opportunity to gain professional experience in education. Working under the direction of teachers and school leaders, you will support students in core subject areas such as math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. You will assist in classroom management, monitor student progress, and ensure that all students have equal access to learning opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Help prepare the classroom for lessons, assist with displaying student work, and manage equipment and resources.
- Support supervising teachers by helping students understand instructions and curriculum.
- Contribute to meaningful conversations regarding equity and barriers to success for all students.
- Maintain student records and report student progress or difficulties to the supervising teacher.
- Comply with school policies regarding child protection, health, safety, and data confidentiality.
- Set and work toward measurable goals while demonstrating accountability for tasks and milestones.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current Denver Public Schools student.
- Must live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
- A commitment to educational excellence and a desire to support all students in feeling seen and heard.
- Academic background or interest in Psychology, Sociology, or Communications.

- Term: Summer 2026.
- Modality: On-site at District elementary, middle school, or early childcare learning centers.
- Compensation: $19.29 per hour.
