This apprenticeship offers current Denver Public Schools students the opportunity to gain experience in an educational setting. Working under the direction of teachers and school leaders, you will support students in core subject areas such as math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. You will assist with classroom management, monitor student progress, and ensure that all students have equal access to learning opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Help prepare the classroom for lessons, clear spaces afterward, and assist with displaying student work.
- Support supervising teachers by helping students understand instructions and curriculum, and maintaining classroom resources.
- Assist with student record keeping and report student progress, achievements, or behavioral difficulties to the supervising teacher.
- Set and work toward measurable individual goals to deliver expected results.
- Contribute to meaningful conversations regarding equity and barriers to success for all students.
- Comply with all school policies regarding child protection, health, safety, and data confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current Denver Public Schools student.
- Must live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
- A commitment to dismantling systems of oppression and inequity, ensuring all students feel seen and heard.
Location & details#
- Location: Denver, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Compensation: $19.29 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site at District elementary, middle school, or early childcare learning centers.
