About the role#
As a Safety Manager/Coordinator Intern, you will work within our safety department to support the development and implementation of health and safety programs for industrial construction projects. You will help ensure our sites comply with safety regulations and assist in managing the safety practices of all personnel on our projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and coordinating safety training, activities, and toolbox talks for contractors.
- Prepare, implement, and enforce Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) documents.
- Conduct and document job site safety observations and review subcontractor safety pre-qualification submittals.
- Investigate accidents to determine root causes and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Compile and distribute data reports regarding incident metrics and injury rates.
- Establish job site safety procedures and policies in collaboration with construction and senior safety managers.
- Educate personnel on accident and injury prevention procedures.
- Research construction safety best practices to support organizational growth.
- Attend and prepare safety actions for pre-construction and project meetings.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Risk Management, or Construction.
- A GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in construction projects, safety training coordination, or job site inspections.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- OSHA training certification is preferred.
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout North America as required.

- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- This is a paid internship position.
- Physical requirements include the ability to traverse uneven surfaces, work in various weather conditions, and lift up to 50 pounds.
