About the role#
The Research team is seeking an intern for the Fall 2026 term to support legal tracking, case documentation, and policy research. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of law, democracy, and politics while working directly with the news division.
What you'll do#
- Draft and update case pages for active and ongoing litigation.
- Track lawsuits and maintain accurate records of case developments.
- Provide timely legal updates to the research team.
- Conduct legal and policy research as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or law student.
- Strong interest in law, democracy, or politics.
- Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Academic background in Political Science, Public Health, Philosophy, Communications, or Journalism.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Modality: On-site (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday weekly).
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 15 to December 11).
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Schedule: Part-time, 15 to 20 hours per week.
