About the role#
Delta Dental of Michigan is hiring a Knowledge Science Intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This position is based in Okemos and follows a hybrid work schedule. You will join our team to work on knowledge-based computation platforms and assist with AI-enabled business rules frameworks. This is a paid, full-time internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain knowledge-based computation platforms.
- Help develop AI-enabled business rules frameworks, including decision modeling and domain-specific languages.
- Work with modern system architectures such as Service-Oriented Architecture and Event-Driven Architecture.
- Gain exposure to technologies like REST, JSON, Kafka, and containerization.
- Apply your academic knowledge to real-world technical problems.
- Explain your technical work to various business teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience programming in Java, Python, C++, or similar languages through coursework or projects.
- Knowledge of software architecture and Object-Oriented analysis and design.
- Skills in data structure and algorithm design.
- Understanding of core mathematical concepts for Computer Science, such as set theory and mathematical logic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
