About the role#
The Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) designs the hardware and software that power data management, connectivity, and enterprise infrastructure. As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will join a team focused on the full development lifecycle, from research and design to testing and final delivery. This is an on-site, full-time internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Lead an end-to-end project as part of an intern team to influence ISG strategy.
- Work alongside technical subject matter experts, mentors, and peer advisors for daily guidance.
- Participate in networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, PERL, or bash.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, data sheets, and technical documentation.
- Understanding of hardware and software interactions to resolve technical issues.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in design, thermals, or controls, including tools like Creo, Solidworks, Flowtherm, Icepack, or Simulink.
- Preferred: Experience with x86 or ARM architectures, schematic and PCB layout tools, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Preferred: Knowledge of I/O protocols like PCIe, SAS, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet, and IPSec, or high-speed design experience.
- Preferred: AI literacy and a proactive approach to using AI tools for hardware design, validation, and testing workflows.

- Compensation: $29.60 to $31.80 per hour.
